MILLBROOK, AL DEMOGRAPHICS

 

The City of Millbrook is located in the southwest corner of Elmore County in central Alabama. Just eight miles north of downtown Montgomery, the state's capital, Millbrook is positioned as an attractive and rapidly growing area. Housing starts in Millbrook and surrounding area continue to spiral upward. Millbrook is the largest city in Elmore County, and fastest growing city in central Alabama. The U.S. 2000 census placed Millbrook's population at 10,386. However, population growth is out pacing estimates. The current [2008] population of Millbrook is over 16,392. The public and private sectors provide significant employment for Millbrook residents. The city is flourishing commercially with new and expanding businesses which provide conveniences and create jobs locally. The Millbrook area's appeal is due in part to a good public school system, low crime rates, appealing residential developments, a beautiful environment, and accessibility to Interstates 65 and 85.
