MILLBROOK’S FIRST MARDI GRAS PARADE “The Revelers� a social organization in Millbrook, Alabama will hold the first, of what everyone hopes will become an annual event, A MARDI GRAS PARADE Saturday, February 18, 2006 1:00PM Individuals or groups who are interested in having a float in the parade are invited to participate. Marching bands, smaller musical groups, or individuals are encouraged to participate in the event. “There will be colorful beads,candy and Moon Pies thrown, just like in Mobile and New Orleans", says Rosalee Wade, President of The Revelers. "Not only will this be a fun event for the long time residents, maybe it will help to give a sense of home to the many hurricane victims still in our area. We invite everyone in the River Region to join us for this fun, exciting, family event.� The parade will begin promptly at 1:00PM on Saturday, February 18. Parade begins on Main Street in front of the Smokehouse Restaurant and ends at Village Green Park. $100 to the best float and $100 to the best band.
